Nyerere and Mandela teams pause for a group picture after the games

RUPASEC organized inter-house games and sports competitions with a purpose of ensuring that students not only excel in academics but also perform exceptionally in co-curricular activities.

The students body is divided into three houses; Nkuruma, Nyerere and Mandela. Each student must belong to a given house. On 7th June, 2019, there were inter-house competitions at the school premises.

Each house presented a team to participate in volleyball, football and netball. In addition, houses also competed in debate as well as English quizzes.

At the end of the competitions, Nyerere House emerged the best with 14 points, Mandela House with 13 points followed by Nkuruma House with 12 points. Nyerere house emerged the best in all the items presented by the teams. This was declared by the Deputy Head teacher Mr. Tumwesigye Francis.

This called for celebration by the winning team. The school management organized a party to officially handover the 2019 inter-house competitions cup. The party took place on the 28th June, 2019 at RUPASEC campus.

It is a requirement by the Ministry of Education, Games and Sports for schools to integrate co-curricular activities in the learning process of students, as this enhances students’ talents, creativity and innovation and all these have a connotation on academic performance.

Promoting Students Talents. Inter-house competitions concluded with a winners’ party
